The much publicised August edition of Made In Naija Fair tagged AUGUST RUSH went down last weekend. It was a very grand event which set Ikoyi and environs ablaze with bursts of activity.
Our purpose is to encourage the youth to become Job Creators, rather than complain of unemployment.
So, what is the Made in Naija concept all about? Another buy and sell gathering out there? Definitely not, as explained by Edak Jahzara Nkpubrein, the convener in a recent chat with our team.
What is Made in Naija Fair?
Zara: Made In Naija Fair is an ultimate platform for Nigerian Entrepreneurs to showcase their goods and services; also an opportunity to support out economy.
So, what’s the purpose of this initiative beyond buy and sell?
Zara: Our purpose is to encourage the youth to become Job Creators, rather than complain of unemployment. We intend to grow and develop our economy that way.
When did the event start?
Zara: We started as a talent show in the southern part of Nigeria seven years ago, and this is our seventh edition of the Made In Naija Fair .
The August Rush event featured brands like Metro Man, Waistbeads Lagos, LaBennis Creations, Fashionez05, Ami Cakes, July Beauty, Dizza’s Empire, 1607Foods, Adire Lounge, Zara Cooks, amongst many others. It was a very grand event, and just in case you missed it, another opportunity awaits you as another edition of Made In Naija Fair is going down this September.
