Happy Saturday everyone 💕. #makeadreamng #makeadream_ng ° Reposted from @dishes_by_q - Nigerian Suya Recipe (can also be used for Chicken) ———————————————————— Have you heard the funny saying that “darkness” is a staple ingredient for suya? 😂😂😂😂. I couldn’t agree more. . Suya is a spicy meat skewer which is a popular food item in West Africa. It is traditionally prepared by the Hausa people of northern Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, and some parts of Sudan (where it is called agashe). Suya is generally made with skewered beef, ram, or chicken. ———————————————————— Thin Sliced Beef flank: Less fat and easily absorb all flavors when seasoned. . If your beef is not thin cut, you’d end up with steamed meat as opposed to roasted 😊 . Turn up your oven to 375 degree Fahrenheit and roast for 10mins. Once it’s 10mins, carefully bring out of the oven and add the yaji and olive oil mix. Bake at a lower temperature of 360 for 25mins while constantly keeping a close watch. . Suya mix: This is different from the one you dip before eating. I used this to marinade before baking and of course I could have made it from scratch however, I ran out of my Nigerian peanuts. Goodnews is, @telandeworld and @allnigerianrecipes would have an authentic recipe to follow . For chicken, please use the breast, cut it very thin and apply same method.
