Writers’ Training Institute and Media Career Development Centre present Creative Writing, Freelancing and Online/ Magazine Publishing Workshop.

A practical based interactive session for aspiring writers, freelance writers, prospecting newsletter/magazine publishers, self-published authors and online writers who desire to develop journalistic skills to write creatively to enhance and advance opportunities in independent writing/publishing operations, etc.

THE WORKSHOP: This practical training session will take a hands-on approach to writing creatively, offering a range of steps to help participants develop and enhance their writing skills, and encouraging them to explore writing resources of thinking, observing, appraising and analyzing towards a more valuable writing as well as exposing participants to freelance writing and the technicalities and methodologies involved in the online and Magazine publishing process.

WORKSHOP AIMS: The training is basically aimed at providing knowledge for increasing proficiency in the subject areas of creative writing, freelance writing, online publishing and Magazine publishing appraisals for a varied of writing and publishing interests’ vis-à-vis book writing, newsletter/magazine publishing, print/online options and aspects of specialized writing for freelance writing/publication.

AUDIENCE/TRAINING TARGET: This training is suitable for prospecting authors, aspiring freelance and independent writers as well as for those with some experience who would like to sharpen their skills and expand their writing interests for Magazine and Book as well as self publishing operations. It will help you to identify your strengths and interests by giving you the opportunity to have a wide range of Magazine/ Newsletter and book publishing options. The emphasis is on finding your own directions and interests through shared learning and exploring new writing/publishing opportunities.

TRAINING STYLE: The workshop will be undertaken via an interactive audience participation session, with Facilitators giving practical exercises and activities designed to ignite and sustain the writing and publishing impulse of participants for a varied of writing and book publishing format.

FACILITATION: The sessions shall have experienced media practitioners and Writing and publishing consultants as key Tutors/Facilitators.
