Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice.
– James C. Collins,Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap… and Others Don’t
“I won’t join that contest.
I won’t apply for that job.
Why should I bother to pitch
For that business grant?
Do I stand any chance
Among more qualified Africans
In their thousands?
Would it ever get to my turn?”
And once again,
You lose out –
Not because your assumptions are true
Or your fears real,
But because
You’re convinced you’d fail
So, as usual,
You never try!!!
You can’t wish away failure
Tall dreams don’t validate success
If wishes were horses
Every beggar would have a jolly-good ride…
Shake off your delusion!
Responsibility beckons!
For success or failure ultimately depends
On your action or inaction.
You can’t wish away failure, Tall dreams don’t validate success, If wishes were horses, Every beggar would have a jolly-good ride #poetry by @funmie_adebayo
