[VIDEO] ‘The Demons We Made’ – Olakunle Sorinyan analyzes the place of ‘hoodlums’ in the current situation in Nigeria

Renowned Iconoclast, Global Thought Leader, Life Strategist. and Culture-Shaper, Olakunle Sorinyan, recently gave an analysis of the current uproar in Nigeria.

The uproar which began when the erstwhile peaceful protest was taken over by hoodlums in reaction to the Lekki shootings/ carnage by soldiers last Tuesday, has led to looting and massive destruction of public infrastructures and properties.

During the session, which held on Instagram LIVE, Pastor Sorinyan gave some insight into the concept of education, as he dissected the real meaning of the word ‘hoodlum’, and how the poor and less privileged members of the society should be viewed and integrated into future elitist agenda for societal change.

In his words, (and paraphrasing),

“… from a search on Google, a hoodlum is a person who engages in crime and violence, a hooligan or a gangster… no part of this suggests that a hooligan is a poor person or someone on the street… A CEO in Manhattan, NY can be a hoodlum if he matches the definition… “

“… the people you call hoodlums in third world countries are citizens who are struggling with their own human conditions…expressing their anger according to their installed capacity. We are equal in our level of anger, madness, frustration etc., but different in expression, and that expression is defined by installed capacity”

When the human life is not able to create options in whatever circumstances it finds itself, it defines its own sub-optimal status… @olakunlesoriyan

… rich people die once, the poor die twice… he dies while living because… he cannot fulfil / pursue the ideas of his own soul and the creativity of his spirit, but is confined to the options the system makes available… @olakunlesoriyan

Cry must have a life span. #Endsars is a cry, not a strategy @olakunlesoriyan

I don’t believe in violence. I believe in mental weaponry and spiritual clarity. That is the destiny and future of Nigeria, not a violent revolution – @olakunlesoriyan

You cannot slap somebody and tell him how to cry. However, the crier must also know that he can’t cry forever – @olakunlesoriyan

Crying, by design must have a life span. It must be morphed into a strategy after a while. @olakunlesoriyan

Methods must be changing while we stay loyal to the mission – @olakunlesoriyan

If you have a goal, you must ensure that the instrument of delivering your goals has the capacity to deliver it, otherwise you are wasting time like trying to get a chicken to rap or a snake to jog (😂) – @olakunlesoriyan

Stop segregating and labeling the poor… they are just differently expressive of the same thing you express @olakunlesoriyan

Touts are not designed to express themselves in order. They thrive in chaos @olakunlesoriyan
