
The nomination list of the prestigious Nigerian Writers’ Awards (Second Edition) is finaly out. The Nigerian Writers Awards (NWA) which kicked off in 2015, had close to 500, 000 hits on the website between the June 29 and September 9 time frame for nomination in about 24 categories for activities in the period under review, March 2015 to May 2016.
The nominees were chosen after thorough screening of all nominated entries by the judges. Interestingly, many of the nominees are Writers/ bloggers on the okadabooks.com platform, among whom are:

Readers Votes and Judges Choice will determine the winner in each category, however only six categories are eligible for voting while other winners will be determined by the jury. The six categories are
- Spoken word poetry,
- Writers’ most supportive brand of the year,
- Song writer of the year,
- Media house of the year,
- Script Writer of the year and
- Blogger of the year
Winners will be announced at the Award Ceremony in January 2017. Voters are to send Nominee’s name and the category eg. Amaka Ibrahim, Blogger of the year to nwaawards@gmail.com. Voting ends on the 4th of November 2016. (Source: Nigerian Writers’ Awards)
