Hello I am Modupe Adekunle. Many people call me Dupe. I love my name and in my Native Nigerian Yoruba language it means ‘Am Thankful’ to God. I Am married to my childhood friend ‘Kogi Dude’ and we have two beautiful ‘Kogi Princesses. We live in the beautiful and vibrant city Lagos in Nigeria West Africa where the sun always shines. I love making and teaching different crafts like baking beading cooking tie dye shoe making and paper crafts. After studying English Arts in the University, I worked in the corporate world for a while but found out quickly it was not my kind of world. In my world there is spontaneity, bold and bright colours, creativity and imaginative thinking which results into beautiful original hand crafted pieces, I create out of nothing and at times from something and adding my special and unique touches. Boxes don’t exist in my creativity world. Why kraftplus? Growing up I was a boisterous child and my mother knowing this taught me very early how to cook and bake and enrolled me in cooking and baking classes during the summer breaks. She believed you cannot go wrong when you work with your hands and you will see the rewards of your creations which will encourage you to do more and perfect your skills. I guess she needed to channel all my energy somewhere well I guess it paid off at the end of the day. KraftPlus was born out a need. It was summer break and my children where bored staying indoor all day watching TV, So I brought out some craft materials and I made different kinds of crafts from tie and dye, baking, cooking and before we knew it my friends dropped their children, the children had loads of fun and summer was over. I found myself with an Aha Moment and a light bulb went up in my head and KraftPlus Summer Craft School for children Started there are craft classes for adult as well. Being Creative I searched The Bible if there was any creative person in the bible and voila! Exodus 35:30-35 (NIV) 30 Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts-- 32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, 33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship. 34 And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. 35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers--all of them master craftsmen and designers. Praise God! Hallelujah and I was really pleased that God Indeed has blessed me with the creative gifts so all I had to do was CREATE. I hope you will enjoy this blog with me.
