The stories include, ‘The Letter’, a short story about the tragedy of an incest which erupted into a domino of dire consequences, ‘The Umbrella’ – the story of a man driven by a desire for success, who eventually loses out; and ‘The Curfew’, the comic story of a man who is drawn into a one-day fast that eventually lasted for three days, owing to circumstances beyond his control.

About the Author

Magnus Ekpiken is from the Efik tribe in Cross River State, Nigeria. He holds a BSc (Accounting) and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Calabar and Bayero University, Kano, respectively.

Though his background is Accounting/Finance, he has been fascinated by the literary world from a young age. Most of the stories in this work were written during Magnus’ undergraduate days. A few were written during his mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps programme in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, in 1997.
Magnus currently works with Mobil Producing Nigeria. He is married to Grace and they live in Lagos with their beautiful daughters and son.
